| Here is a typical Shanghai long tong (alley) in between rows of town-houses (usually three-stories). It used to be a social place where kids play and adults gossip. Not until recent years did cars start to find their ways here. In the middle of the photo is my father holding my son Mel. The second door on the left is our back door where my father and Mel stood in the previous picture. |
